Who we are

Head Coach: Stewart Blackwell

Stewart has been coaching and competing in the sport of powerlifting for approximately 3 years. He has competed in multiple federations and specialises in long term programming and biomechanics/movement efficiency. He is a qualified personal trainer and has completed the Powerlifting Australia Level 1 Coaching course. He has attended multiple powerlifting seminars and currently studies Physiotherapy at Newcastle university. He uses a variety of scientifically supported methods to program for his clients and focuses on what each lifter needs to improve.

Analytical by nature, Stewart has tried far more cookie cutter programs than he should have. But he has learned from them. Stewart has also learnt how unpredictable things can be once you step on the platform.  Knowledge that can hopefully be passed onto you.

What we do

Specificity, overload, fatigue management

We stick to fundamentals. We recognise the importance of form. We realise that good form is efficient, safe and strong. Getting clients to complete the big 3 safely, with effective movement patterns is our initial priority. Once clients are moving well we can begin to build a base of strength. This strength base is what we are able to then improve upon.

"The road to no where is paved with excuses " Mark Bell.

This sport and fitness in general is a long game. There are no shortcuts. There is just hard work, proven processes and science. The difference is we admit there are no secrets. We just know what works and we want to teach you.
